Vase Styles for Mothers Day

Mother’s Day is the perfect day to celebrate moms and to feel appreciated for all the hard work you do. Being a mom isn’t as easy as some make it look. If you have received or are going to receive a bouquet in a box, you may need some expert advice on how to arrange your blooms so they look their best. There are a few different ways you can style your Mothers Day bouquets.

Before discussing the different style vases you can choose from, here are a few basic steps you can follow, no matter which look you choose.

  • Remove the wrapping from the flowers once you take the flowers out of the box.
  • Trim the stems at a diagonal, aiming to cut off at least an inch
  • Remove foliage from the stems that may fall below the waterline
  • Using clean room-temp water, fill your vase
  • Separate the flowers by their variety

Textured/Tall

If you are looking for a more dramatic look, you can consider using a tall brilliant cut glass vase. You will need to put one type of flower in first to make sure that it sustains even coverage throughout the bouquet. Next, you will fill in any open spaces using the variety of flowers you have available. The texture of the vase alone will give an ornate and interesting appearance, thus highlighting the flowers.

Another tip that you may consider following is to place the blooms inside the vase diagonally. You can also crisscross the stems to help keep them in place and hold them up.

Short & Square

Mothers Day arrangements are always beautiful. The next style vase you can use is a short and square vase. Many people choose short vases for their flowers because they stand out. If you are looking for a more modern yet charming look, you should use this style. In order to achieve this style, you will simply follow the steps above when trimming your stems so that they can fit this style of vase accurately.

You can then begin by adding flowers to the perimeter of the vase, working your way to the center. If you do it this way, it will help the flowers to stand better.

Mixed & Many

If you are looking to create a more artistic and unique look, you should consider mixing a variety of different sizes and shaped vases. You can separate them into several vases instead of having all of your flowers together in one bouquet. If you have any empty perfume-style bottles lying around, you can try placing one to two stems in each one. If you don’t have any of these lying around your house, you can easily purchase them at your local craft store or thrift store.

You can also put the same type of bloom and color in each bottle and put the bottles in a cluster on the table.

There are many benefits of receiving your bouquet in a flower box. It keeps them fresher for a longer time, and you have the flexibility to create and arrange them however you’d like.
